All is set for the hosting of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for the accreditation of eight programmes at the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.
The Rector, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi made this known through his deputy rector, Dr. Taiwo Akinyemi who doubles as chairman accreditation committee.
The rector revealed that the accreditation exercise is scheduled to hold between Monday, May 22nd and 26th, 2023.
According to Prof. Akinlabi, the courses to be accredited include; resource accreditation of National Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical Electronics Engineering and Food Technology. Others are Higher National Diploma in Accountancy, Public Administration and Business Administration coupled with the full accreditation of National Diploma in Office Technology and Management and Library and Information Studies.
The rector revealed that the accreditation became necessary following the status of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora as a full-fledged polytechnic.
Prof. Akinlabi noted that the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora will continue to collaborate with the National Board for Technical Education towards fulfilling its over sight function in the institution.
The rector maintained that the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora will not renege in training middle level manpower for agriculture, technology and management.
