2023: Lagos PDP Guber Candidate, Jandor, Attacked

Thugs alledged to be from a political party in Lagos state have attacked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates’ campaign train on Sunday as it was leaving the Ikoga Junction neighborhood of Badagry Local Government after visiting party members there.

Several members of Jandor’s entourage and pressmen were hurt during the attack. One of the news reporters is in serious condition at an unnamed hospital as of the time of this press release, while the injured are receiving medical care.

In a statement by the Lagos State PDP Publicity Secretary and Chairman, Media and Publicity Team for JandorFunke 2023 Campaign Council, Hon. Hakeem Amode the thugs who attacked the campaign train shouted “APC” and brandished lethal weapons and firearms.

“You will recall that our party raised concern over the threat to use APC sponsored thugs to attack the campaign programs of our Gubernatorial candidate Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran-JANDOR recently and we would like to state categorically that this will not deter the determination of our candidate to campaign for the next election and win the election come March 29, 2023.”

“We would like to call on the Commissioner of Police of Lagos State and the Area Commander of Police in the Badagry division to do everything possible to find out who carried out the attack and to take any necessary disciplinary action against them in order to prevent similar occurrences in the future and to give our members confidence that they will be protected during this campaign period.”

“Additionally, we would want to issue a stern warning to anyone who intends to stir up unrest or cause disruptions during the campaign and elections, saying that we will not back down and will fight back against intimidation in any form”.
