2023 Election: Heavy Rain, Logistics Disrupt Collation Process In Iseyin

Heavy rain and storm was on Saturday evening experienced in Iseyin, Oyo state.

The downpour did not only disrupted activities at the main Collation centre but hindered movement of result to the centre.

Report says security personnel, NYSC adhoc staff and journalists deployed for the exercise at the collation centre found it difficult to navigate at the centre.

Our correspondent said “The rain stopped at a point but the INEC adhoc staff were using light on their phones to calculate figures. No light. Some of the professors sent from UI were lamenting the lackadaisical attitude of the electoral officer for not providing light. Chairs not enough. I’m sitting on the floor so as to scribble story”

As at 4:31 Sunday morning, the situation outside the collation centre, Iseyin was calm as collation and harmonization of house of Reps, senate and presidential result continue.

Results from some far local governments are still being expected at the centre. In all, results from 13 local governments will be collated before declaration is made by the returning officer
