Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has paid a visit to Gabriel Michael, who was hit by a stray bullet during the protest on cash scarcity which rocked Abeokuta, the state capital on Tuesday.
Speaking with newsmen at the Federal Medical Center Idi Aba Abeokuta, after ascertaining the recovery of the victim, Governor Abiodun urged residents of the state not to resort to violence as a result of cash scarcity.
While noting that breaking and looting banks as well as smashing ATM terminals would not solve the problem, the Governor said such situations could have been averted if people were patient with the government.
He appealed to the people of the state to remain calm as government was taking steps to address the situation, insisting that embarking on civil unrest would worsen the already tensed situation.
While commending the staff of FMC for responding quickly when the victim was rushed to the hospital, Governor Abiodun called on the Federal Government to continue to invest in human resources and match the investment with the needed equipment.
