It was a gathering of very important personalities both in the Islamic circle and the society in general at the official installation of Arc. Dr Hassan Olawale Giwa as the new Asiwaju of Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land.

Also turbaned was his wife, Alhaja Khadija Omolara Giwa as Iya Alaranse Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land.

Friends, families, business and political associates, as well as Islamic scholars who were mostly cladded in white Yoruba traditional attire with green cap and head gear for women, stormed the Central Mosque, Oja’ba, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State to witness the turbaning by the Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Shiekh Abdulganniy Agbotomokekere.

Among the personalities present at the event which had its reception at Ibadan Civic Centre, Idi Ape were the 2023 governorship candidate of Accord in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Oyo South Senatorial Candidate, Chief Kolapo Kola-Daisi, former Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekambi, CEO, Kayrom Lee, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde and renown Islamic preacher, Shiekh Muhydeen Bello among others.

In his sermon, the renown Islamic preacher, Shiek Muideen Bello, who was a guest speaker on the occasion, stressed the need for well meaning Nigerians to exhibit good character and lay good examples for the society to enjoy rapid development.

Sheikh Bello called on individuals, particulars those at the event to emulate the philanthropic gesture of the newly turbaned Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadanland,  Arc Olawale Giwa, stressing that the Nigeria need more of his kind to become a better society.

He said that Asiwaju Giwa became a candidate for the highly respected Islamic title in Ibadanland because of his good and unflinching support for Islam.

Earlier, speaking shortly before the turbaning, the Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Shiek Agbotomokekere who spoke through Alhaji Abdulbari hailed Arc. Dr. Hassan Giwa for his philanthropic gestures towards humanity and the progress of Islam.

Shiek Agbotomokekere who said Arc. Giwa has over time contributed to building project of the Oja’ba central mosque disclosed that he (Giwa) was tested and found worthy to be the Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan

In an address, the new Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan land, Arc Dr. Hassan Olawale Giwa, Founder, HoG Foundation, acknowledged that the position of Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land is a position that involves huge responsibility and comes with challenges, hence believed that the support of fathers and all adherents of Islamic faith will make him succeed.

He further preaches love among Ibadan indigenes within and outside the country “I want to use this opportunity to preach love among our people in Ibadan Land. If we embrace love, we will quickly grab the concept of brotherliness. We should inculcate the habit of being our brothers’ keepers. This will hasten the development of the land. If we help one another, we will all end up at the top. If we help one another to achieve, there will be less hatred.”

Also speaking, chairman planning committee, Hon Sikiru Adebayo said Asiwaju Giwa was able to achieve the height because of his faith in Allah, hardwork, commitment, dedication, generosity, unblemished antecedents and omoluabi ethos.

Arc Dr Hassan Olawale Giwa is a talented and result oriented senior architect with a strong passion who holds track records of achievements in managing complex architectural and construction projects.

The Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan land who Hails from Aliiwo, Oyo state, is the otunba of Lagun who rose from being a cobbler, to barber, photographer to where he is today.
