Oyo state house of assembly has begun the impeachment process of the deputy governor of Oyo state, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan
The house on resumption from its over one month recess began the process during plenary presided over by the speaker, Rt Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.
The lawmakers levelled allegations of gross misconduct, abuse of office and Financial recklessness Abandonment of office and official duty, Insubordination and other offences against the deputy governor, engineer Rauf Olaniyan.
The house however directed Engineer Olaniyan to respond to the allegations within seven days.
Speaker, Rt Hon Ogundoyin said the development is in accordance to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended in 2011. Section 188.

RT.HON. SPEAKER SIR,
Consequent upon listed below, we the under listed elected Honourable members of the 9th assembly hereby allege the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Eng. Rauf Olaniyan with the following allegations:
1. Gross misconduct
2. Abuse of office
3. Financial recklessness
4. Abandonment of office,official duty
5. Insubordination and other offences.
This is in accordance to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended in 2011. Section 188.
