INEC Sensitizes Osun Residents On PVC Collection

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Osun State, has lamented the low turnout of electorates who came to get their Permanent Voter card ahead of the 2023 general elections.

During a rally for voter awareness in and around Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner for INEC, made the claim in an interview with Newsmen.

Only 1,032 people have collected between December 12 and December 16 out of the 408,197 PVC pieces that are ready for collection, according to Dr. Agboke, who deemed this to be inadequate.

He made it clear that INEC decided to hold a meeting with the public to inform them of the significance of collecting their PVC in order to participate in the coming election.

On the preparation of INEC for the 2023 election, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, said the state office has taken delivery of 5,306 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, that will be used on election day.

Dr. Agboke, while urging the electorate not to sell their PVC to politicians advised those who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Card, PVC, to do so as anyone without PVC would not be allowed to vote during election.
