Ahmad Lawan, the Senate President, has expressed his sorrow at the untimely loss of Mohammed Isa, his Special Assistant on Media.
The assistant passed away on Friday night while receiving medical attention for injuries he incurred in a car accident on Sunday, on the Minna-Suleja Road in Niger State.
Former state commissioner for information, Danladi Ndayebo and the deceased were reportedly traveling from Suleja to Minna when the incident occurred.
Ndayebo died at the hospital much earlier while Isa was on treatment till he gave up the ghost on Friday.
Isa’s remains were interred on Saturday afternoon in Funtua, Katsina State, in line with Islamic customs, according to a statement by Ola Awoniyi, Special Adviser on Media to the President of the Senate.
The death was “shattering, heart-rending, and a big loss,” according to Lawan.
He described the dead as “extremely dedicated to his duties, never found wanting, and very professional in his journalistic calling,” according to the statement.
