Following the report’s presentation by Hon. Wumi Oladeji, Chair of the Committee on Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, and the Committee of the Whole House’s consideration of each clause during Thursday’s plenary session, the bill was passed.

The legislator, who represents the state constituency of Ogbomoso North, stated that one of the key areas in the law that had been changed by the House was the establishment of an agency for people with disabilities, adding that this agency would be governed by the state governor.

Hon. Oladeji continued by stating that the Law mandates that 50 percent of staff agencies’ members must be people with disabilities.

According to the legislator, the bill also provides for the reserving of special parking places and seating areas inside buses and other forms of public transportation for the benefit of those who are disabled.
