LG Poll: Adedamola Olajide, “Elegant” Remains Our Party’s Chairmanship Candidate – Ido APM Stakeholders Disown Fashina
Stakeholders of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State have rejected a purported move to affirm Hon. Barr. Olayemi Ajibola Oluwasina as the party’s chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government election.
The stakeholders, in a statement issued by the Ido Local Government party Publicity Secretary, Adekunle Hammed, maintained that Barr. Olayemi Ajibola Oluwasina is neither a member of APM nor are all the coalition leaders that are claiming his candidacy members of APM in Ido Local Government.
The APM stakeholders in Ido local government said, Hon. Adedamola Olajide, popularly known as “Elegant,” remains the party’s chairmanship candidate following his emergence from the primary election conducted by the party.
Hammed, on behalf of the Ido APM, said there was no basis for replacing or presenting another individual as the party’s candidate, stressing that Olajide was duly produced through the party’s primary process.
He urged coalition leaders and other stakeholders to desist from actions capable of causing division within the party, accusing some individuals of pursuing personal interests at the expense of the unity and progress of the APM in Ido Local Government.
According to him, the party should remain focused on strengthening its structures and working collectively towards victory in the forthcoming election rather than engaging in activities that could create unnecessary crisis.
The publicity secretary also called on Alhaji Emiola Musibau to stop parading himself as the chairman of the APM in Ido Local Government.
Hammed urged all members and stakeholders to respect the party’s established leadership structure and allow the appropriate party organs to handle disagreements or disputes.
He appealed to APM members to remain calm, united and committed to the party’s objectives, saying that unity among members would be critical to the party’s success at the forthcoming local government poll.
