Ogbomoso Agog As NSIB Director, Olawumi Oladeji Buries Mum

It was indeed a celebration of life during the weekend at the funeral of Mama Janet Kikelomo Oladeji, nee Amao-Alata, mother of a former Oyo state house of assembly and presently the director of public Affairs, Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB, Abuja, Hon. Bimbo Olawumi Oladeji.

Our correspondent who attended the ceremony reports that Ogbomoso, where the event took place was agog as national assembly members, government functionaries, traditional rulers, scholars, captains of industries, associates and chieftains of major political parties attended the event.

Some of the guests included Senator Fatai Buhari, Hon. Olamiju Alao-Akala, representative of governor Seyi Makinde who is the commissioner for works, Prof Daud Sangodoyin, Gov Makinde’s Chief of staff, hon Segun Ogunwuyi, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Prince Niran Adeyoju, NSIB representatives, past and serving Oyo assembly lawmakers among others.

The ceremony, which began with a church service at Salem Baptist Church, Gaa Masifa Area, Ogbomoso, was climaxed with a reception of guest at Viva Continental Event Centre, Ogbomoso-Ikirun road, Ogbomoso Oyo State.

In his tribute while speaking with newsmen, Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, represented by the commissioner for works, Professor Daud Sangodoyin said it was evident that late mama Oladeji was committed to family and her children while on earth.

“The message of His Excellency is that Mama Kikelomo Oladeji lived a good live that everyone of us should emulate. She trained the children, as you can see that the children of Mama have made it in life.

“We should also know that we must train our children so that when we are no more, they will sustain whatever we live for.” Sangodoyin stated.

Also speaking, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo state, Prince Niran Adeyoju SDM said the large number of dignitaries at the event was a testament of Mama Oladeji’s good deeds while alive.

In an emotional laden voice, daughter of the deceased, Mrs Olawumi Oladeji described her mother as her spiritual worrior who was committed to the wellbeing of her family.

She appreciated people’s support before and after Mama’s departure.

Earlier in a sermon with the bible text, Psalm 39 verse 6, the priest, Revd Dr Ola Ajadi who spoke on the topic “Wake up, the end is nearer” said life is short, describing it as like a shadow in a mirror that fades away.

According to Rev’d Ola Ajadi, Life is like a cloud that quickly disappear in the sky while death is a necessary end of everyone on earth, urging people to live an impactful life.

Mama Janet Kikelomo Oladeji, JP, Nee Amao-Alata died on 28th of February, 2024 at the age of 83 during a brief illness.
