In an ambush by unidentified gunmen at the construction site in Owo Council Area of Ondo State, two employees of a road construction company have suffered serious injuries.
The unidentified workers were reportedly attacked at around 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday night during the gangsters’ dynamite explosion, according to reports.
According to information obtained by newsmen, the gunmen destroyed the trucks at the scene and fired erratically into the air before fleeing.
It was also gathered that the injured people had been taken to the hospital and responding to treatment.
Confirming the attack , the Commander of the Ondo state Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye who spoke with newsmen confirmed that it was the two security men on ground that were injured .
” They got the windscreen of the Caterpillar of the construction company damaged and the injured men have been receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
“By the grace of God, the situation is under control, and I urge everyone to go about their regular business as I am on my way back to the Technical College where the newly recruited Amotekun officers are receiving training”, the Amotekun Commander who also serves as the Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Security Matters gave the hint
Just this week, on Monday, gunmen who had been apprehended by the police as miscreants attacked a police station in Akure metropolis, the capital of Ondo State, murdering a police officer but failing to enter the station.
