...Meets More Aggrieved Members In Egbeda

All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Oyo State have been urged to work hard for the party’s victory in the upcoming general elections, with the assurance that, with the skills and abilities of a seasoned politician like Senator Teslim Folarin, the party’s candidate for governor the party’s compensation scheme will be equitable for all, .

This was the focal point On Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the party’s Egbeda Local Government Area office, along the Ibadan-Ife Expressway, when Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Chairman of the party’s Reconciliation Committee, led members to an interactive session with party stakeholders from the six local government areas of Ibadan Less City.

The party’s state secretary, who was a member of the committee, Alh. Tajudeen Olanite, Pastor Wale Adepoju, Baba E.O. Olaoye, Alh. Akin Akande, Chief (Mrs.) Funke Olayanju, Dr. (Mrs.) Adepeju Esan and Hon. Abass Akande attended the meeting

Others were Hon. Wahab Oguntayo, Chief Lanre Oke, Pa Suara Ogunyemi, Hon. Gaphar Ojetola, Engr. Dayo Lawal, Alh. Bukola Badmus and Chief Sunday Ajadi Abeebo.

Alh. Kafarudeen Ajisafe, the party’s leader in Ido, praised the Committee for having the conviction and courage to take on such a difficult task and urged those who had grievances to state their cases politely and decorously which the Committee Chairman, Lanlehin also echoed, urging the aggrieved to exercise restraint because his Committee already had the assurances of the party and its governorship candidate to take heed to whatever advice was put forth.

Aspirants from the six local government areas spoke one after another about their complaints and offered practical ideas to stop a recurrence and help the party win the election in 2023.

Hon. Opeyemi Jimoh, Yekeen Abass and Mrs. Labake Odunsi (Ido), Mrs. Feyisayo Oyewole and Hon. Femi Adeyemi (Oluyole), Hon. Abass Adeyemo, Michael Fadoyin and Sulaimon Amidu (Akinyele), Hon. Wale Sadare and Femi Akanbi (Egbeda), Hon. Sunday Adesokan who stood in for a former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Sunday Adepoju, and Hon. Ismail Oyetunde, House of Assembly candidate, Ona-Ara State Constituency, all spoke at the session.

The party leaders in Lagelu Local Government, Hon. D.A. Lawal and Hon. Fatai Awoyola, as well as the party chairman in the same local government, informed the Committee of the ingenious steps taken to ensure the smooth nomination of the party’s candidate for the state seat. If this proposed plan had been accepted, it would have helped the party as a whole avoid the conflicts that frequently arise from fighting for party tickets.

Leaders in attendance at the meeting included Hon. Babatunde Asunmo from Egbeda, Alh. Rashidi Folarin from Ona-Ara, Alh. Rasaq Akilapa from Oluyole, Hon. S.A. Olanrewaju and Alh. Tajudeen Kolubo Sanni who both represented Hon. George Olu Akintola, Member representing Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, Hon. Ademola Alli, former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Murphy Adigun Hammed, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, as well as Hon. Tirimisiyu Olowoake. Other leaders from the zone, who are also members of the Reconciliation Committee and were in attendance, included Chief Kehinde Balogun, Comrade Ibrahim Bolomope and Pastor Akin Oke.

On behalf of the State Chairman, Hon. Isaac Omodewu, Senatorial Chairman of the party in the Oyo Central Senatorial District, Dr. Joshua Oyebamiji asked for forgiveness from any members who may feel offended in one way or another and urged them to sheathe their swords and contribute their fair share in the interest of the party’s overall success.

In his concluding remarks, Committee Chairman Senator Olufemi Lanlehin thanked attendees for speaking up and for offering insightful suggestions that can help the party succeed. He also pledged that the committee would be ready to resolve all issues, particularly those involving the party structure, with the fear of God and the utmost belief in equity, fairness, and justice.
