Impeachment: Court Throws Out Oyo Deputy Governor’s Case Challenging Process

Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has dismissed a case filed by the state’s Deputy Governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, challenging the impreachment process against him.

Olaniyan challenged the process of the state house of assembly to impeach him after a seven point allegations were levelled against Olaniyan.

The judge, justice Ladiran Akintola while delivering judgement on Thursday, said that originating summons filed by the claimant were purely legislative procedure and not judicial in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Oyo State Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan says he is appealing the high court judgement dismissing his suit against the plan of the Oyo State House of Assembly to begin his impeachment process.

Chief Afolabi Fashanu, counsel to Engineer Olaniyan, confirmed the development on Thursday.

    I don’t even know why they want to impeached the deputy governor at least they should let Oyo state ppl to know what he did if he deserves to impeached we’ll know so
